Malvern College is one of the leading private boarding schools in the UK and 2014 marked their 150th Birthday.
Having worked with them for several years including developing brand positioning, marketing materials, signage and three websites, their marketing department commissioned us to develop a new logo to mark this momentous occasion.
The brief was simple - to create a logo that not only captured the heritage and history of the College, but one that could be used across a plethora of marketing materials, both online and offline. The solution we felt was also simple - to use the dramatic and imposing main College building as the centrepiece of the logo as this captures the very essence and heritage of the establishment. However, finding a way of creating a graphical representation of the building was going to be the major challenge.
Despite having all the latest creative technologies in place, including iMacs, tablets and design and web development software, sometimes only a pencil, paper and a rubber will do! So out they came (to much laughter and many clever remarks) and Ed drew the building by hand, which only added to the uniqueness of the final result.
The new logo has been very well received by the college and seen as the perfect solution to the brief. As such, we have now been invited to look at developing a new website for Malvern College plus two further, associated sites.
