For the 3rd year running, our client GP Bullhound have hosted the prestigious Northern Tech Awards, and for the 3rd year running we at Williams&Crosby have designed and produced all of the marketing materials for the event.
About The Event
GP Bullhound provides independent, strategic advice and hard-nosed deal making to the best technology entrepreneurs, companies and investors. For 3 years now, they have played host to the Northern Tech Awards. The Awards have been going since 2011, and provide a unique way of celebrating the innovative technologies and businesses developed in the region, recognising those who have contributed to their success. The event is by invitation-only, attended by CEOs, entrepreneurs and business leaders in the Digital Economy and provides a fantastic networking opportunity for like-minded entrepreneurs to make contact and exchange ideas. The event is free, run as a not for profit and financed by GP Bullhound and a small group of sponsors wishing to support entrepreneurship across the North.
Our Role
Our role at Williams&Crosby was to design and produce a whole host of printed marketing materials to help support the event. We created: Entry postcards, roller banners, a 44 page catalogue, a menu card, a sponsors photo board and a presentation template for the awards ceremony, certificates and email graphics. As well as providing all of these printed materials, we also help to update and maintain the Northern Tech Awards Website.
Mission Impossible
The challenge for us with this event is that the nominations for the Awards are chosen very close to the time, so items such as the catalogue and certificates need to be finalised and printed with only hours to spare. This, however, is a challenge that we embrace and one that we see as an opportunity to show our clients the scope of what we can achieve. Just an example of the lengths to which we will go to make sure our client's deadlines are met; we had initially provided GP Bullhound with banner artwork to be used around the venue so that they could use an existing supplier for production. However, there was a last minute issue with delivery and they were faced with a situation whereby they may not have them for the event! We received the rescue call at 10:30am on the day of the event asking if we could somehow get the banners produced and delivered to the client at the Awards venue within 4 hours. Mission impossible? Not for us... crisis averted!
